Located in Bathurst, just west of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, the Home Patch produces and sells craft items, fabric, books, gifts and more, both to the public and wholesale, and runs workshops and classes.
The old website was old and tired looking. It was not showing the business and its products in the best light. Maintained by in-house staff, it had developed glitches and was difficult to maintain. The owners felt that they had outgrown its capabilities and wanted to move to a more professional solution that would showcase the business and its products and increase online sales.
Glo Digital designed a fresh new 'crafty' interface based on Home Patch's existing branding and consistent with the business goals. We built the new site using Drupal content management system, with the online shopping facilities provided by Drupal's Ubercart system, which we enhanced to cater for partial quantities (eg. 2.5 metres of fabric). We made the site easy to use for customers and easy for staff to maintain the product information.
The resulting website increased the company's online sales by more than 400%. Additionally, significant new walk-in and telephone sales were generated. Now their biggest problem is keeping up with demand!
