Full time Java Developer role working partly from home, partly in exclusive CBD office, with opportunities to expand your skills in new directions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer to join our client’s team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, experience developing applications using either Microsoft development technologies or PowerBuilder, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Your initial contract will be to the end of June 2025, followed by a potential extension of 24 months.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications using Java and, ideally, Microsoft technologies or PowerBuilder
- Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
Requirements:
- 5+ years of full time equivalent, hands-on, demonstratable experience in Java/J2EE development
- A solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Experience with SQL and database design
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- You must be located in or near Brisbane
It will be an advantage to have:
- Development experience with Microsoft technologies (e.g. C#, Dynamics 365, Azure) or PowerBuilder
- A degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
