Full time PowerBuilder Developer role working 50/50 from home and Brisbane CBD office, with opportunities to expand your skills in new directions.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PowerBuilder Developer to join our client’s team on a contract basis. The initial contract will be to the end of June 2025, followed by an extension of 24 months.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, support and maintain PowerBuilder applications
- Develop, interpret and document requirements
- Implement requirements with clean, maintainable and well documented code
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
- Provide low-volume, second-tier help desk support during business hours
Professional requirements:
- 5+ years of full time equivalent, hands-on, demonstratable experience in PowerBuilder development
- Experience with SQL and database design
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Detailed knowledge of and experience with software development lifecycles
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Practical requirements:
- You must have full, permanent working rights in Australia
- You must live in South East Queensland and be willing to commute to our client’s Brisbane CBD office 2-3 days per week
- You must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
It will be an advantage to have:
- Development experience with financial systems
- Development experience with Microsoft technologies (e.g. C#, Dynamics 365, Azure) or Java/J2EE
- A degree in Information Technology or a related discipline

Given that PowerBuilder is an ageing tool, you will be maintaining legacy systems, but opportunities exist to participate in system replacement activities using the technologies mentioned above. Our client has a large program of work planned and in progress that will take at least several years to complete.
